__NOTOC__ Chris Messina co-founded the Flock web browser (helped start Flock the browser company) but is no longer involved in that project. Worked on the Spread Firefox project, leading the community marketing of Firefox. Did the design of both the site and the two-page New York Times ad. He was also user Experience Design Lead at Vidoop LLC. He maintains a gallery of screenshots of interfaces, representing his interest in user interaction and interface design. He helped start the BarCamp and coworking communities. Involved in the development of technologies like OpenID, OAuth, microformats, Portable Contacts and activity streams. Was an advocate at Microformats.org. He is board member of the OpenID and Open Web Foundations. He advises TarPipe, Urban Airship and Perpetually. Chris co-founded San Francisco-based Citizen Space. Runs Citizen Agency, a consulting company focused on the effective and appropriate use of social media combined with open source values and practices. Frequent speaker at technology conferences such as Web 2.0 Expo. Chris received the 2008 Google Open Source Award in recognition for his work advancing technology initiatives such as OpenID, OAuth, Activity Streams and microformats.
